A gas explosion hit a seafood restaurant in Greenhills, San Juan killing several people and destroying properties. This is the second gas explosion that occurred in Metro Manila in less than four (4) months after the Serendra explosion in May 2013.
I mentioned in my previous article that the government should implement stricter regulations on the gas installations. It should start on proper competency training and certification of regulatory agency personnel. Only certified personnel should be allowed to inspect, test and certify gas installations.
Certifications should not end there, people involved in the design and construction of gas installation should be certified as well or under the direct supervision of a certified individual.
