The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) launched the slogan “The Right Way, The Best Way” which aims to encourage OFWs to apply only to legal channels or POEA licensed recruitment agencies. The slogan is also in adherence to PNoy’s “Daang Matuwid (straight path)”.
A slogan is one thing, implementation in another. No matter how good the slogan will be if it is not enforced properly, then, it will just be another waste of government fund. I am looking forward to the time that there will be no more news about OFWs being abused by employers, not receiving their wages or their contract being neglected by their employers. As an OFW, I have seen the sufferings of my fellow OFWs who were not processed through legal channels.
