Identification of Conductors And Terminals – IEC 60445

The IEC Standard 60445 - Basic and safety principles for man-machine interface, marking and identification - Identification of equipment terminals, conductor terminations and conductors published in August 2010 is a combination of the IEC Std 60445 - Terminal Marking and IEC 60446 - Conductor Identification.

In clause 6.1 General of this standard, the identification of conductors, the following colours are permitted:

  • black
  • brown
  • red
  • orange
  • yellow
  • green
  • blue
  • violet
  • grey
  • white
  • pink
  • turquoise

NOTE This list of colours is derived from IEC 60757.
