Every Electrical Engineer knows that James Clerk Maxwell wrote the Laws of Electromagnetism. IEEE investigation however uncovered differently. It may have been Oliver Heaviside that wrote the formula that has been used since Albert Einstein referred to them as Maxwell’s equations in his 1940 monograph “Considerations Concerning the Fundamentals of Theoretical Physics.” The name stuck, and Heaviside faded from public view.
