I just receive an email from a friend that he is being made redundant in his company as no projects are coming. Only a skeletal force is being left behind to sustain and close-out the remaining works. I believe he worked there for more than a decade. A guy just sitting beside me was given a notice that the company is not renewing his contract after 3 years with the company.
With the price of oil remaining at a third compared to its June 2014 price, redundancy seems became a household name. This article [1] provided a very good insight about redundancy, to quote “Remember, it is the job that becomes redundant, not you“.
